“Like attracts like, so be careful what energy you put out, mija.”

This is book 2 of this series - book one is Virgin Sacrifice. The first thing that I thought when I finished this book; UMMMMMM MA’AM! Why are we ending the book this way?

I have so many questions and the most important one is, WHO THE HELL IS THE KILLER THAT IS AFTER LUZ? What is happening? How long do I have to wait for book 3? Is Lucian a love interest? (insert eyes emoji) Do I trust Locke?

This book starts off where the first one ends and we get right into it. We obviously know Luz has a fvcked up past, and she has been trying to escape and start fresh. So, who is trying to hurt Luz? If you think we get answers we really don’t. We find out there are more, “sheep”, working for this serial killer on the loose and we don’t know why they are targeting Luz. I mean, we do get some answers, but nothing concrete like I was expecting.

The boys in Luz’s life are still obsessed with her and they do not want to let her out of their sight, so they “convince” her to stay with them so she can be under their watch. Honestly, who doesn’t love a man obsessed with you that he gives you no choice but to agree with him, and let alone three men.

“My name on her lips sounded like a dark prayer, and I was her God.”

The first book was a slow burn and there were no smutty scenes, which weren't needed because the plot had me sucked in. In this one, things are HOT! Baby Luz, learns a thing or two from, “her monsters”, and it was everything - sweet baby I was eating it all up.

Now, I wanted more spice because I have no chill and I’m a whore for smut, but you cannot rush Luz! We get a more deeper connection with some of the characters, and Luz and the others are just playing themselves - trying to hide their emotions, pretending it is not there. Luz does give in to some and I did like to see her put her walls down just a little. And just like the first book, the plot was good to keep you entertained, so that I didn’t need straight smut.

“There was something magnetic about his madness.”

I called in book 1 and told Luna, EVEREST was mine, and I still love him so this book just confirmed it. He's such a romantic, unhinge AF, and I just want him! A newcomer I wasn’t expecting was Daddy Lucian, and I LIKE him, so I’m definitely looking forward to the next book for more of him.

In this book, we find out more about the men in our lives pasts, their upbringing, getting a deeper and closer look to who they are, and why they are the way they are. We know they are filthy rich, trained killers, deadly, and get what they want. I definitely appreciated the insight into them.

“Your soul is my own. I’ve known you always.”

I do love the banter between them, the men and Luz, and even the banter and bickering between the men themselves. Luz is such a badass and she has definitely grown more on me from the first book. She can hold her own and speaks her mind and I LOVE that.

Again this book ends in a cliffhanger which hurt my soul, but I’m looking forward to the next book - until then I will be impatiently waiting.
